My Tower Pictures

197' & 75' Towers

Installed the 197' in Oct. 1995, the 75' in 1991

I snapped this pic one evening, I never found the "Pot'O Gold"

30' Double Bazooka 40m

Antennas are turned with a Hy-gain T2X Tail Twister rotor,Mast is SC-140 and are fed with RG-213 & RG-8U,into a Ameritron RCS-8V remote coax switch.

Both Towers.. the one in the backgound is my Baby!

197' Tower- 183' Rohn 25g

Antenna's

2m FM Stacked Cushcraft 13b2's =(26B2) 197' to boom

70cm FM Quad 6 element 197' to boom

T-31Tennadyne Log Periodic ( I use it on 6m, 2m, 70cm SSB

31 element (all active, all ham bands) 50mhz to 1300 mhz 185' to boom

(2) 2m FM Copper pipe J-pole 175' & 100'

Antennas are turned with a Hy-gain Ham IV rotor with a Thrust Bearing, Mast is SC-120 and are fed with 300' 7/8" Andrews ridged hardline, into a Ameritron RCS-8V remote coax switch. The 175' J-Pole is fed with 1/2" Heliax & the 100' J-pole is fed with 1/2" Hardline.

A Rohn tower light (115v AC in 1/2" PVC) is installed at 180' witch is controlled by a timer.

The Ameritron RCS-8V Remote coax switch boxes

(Lightning seems to like them from time to time)

The remote switch box is used for switching from one antenna to another using one (1) main feedline from the transceiver. It has it's pro's & con's for use, running seperate 300' feedlines for each antenna would be exspensive and 7/8" andrews isn't cheap! they are problematic if you get a Lightning Strike and it takes out a relay or burns the PCB inside the box. Hint: You have to get someone to climb the tower to do the repairs....not Fun!

The Guy Anchors

I designed the Guy Anchors with equalizer plates for the turnbuckles, 2 7/8" drill pipe x 12' about 6' in the ground. The anchor on the left has a concrete base of 2'x6'. the one on the right has is 18" in dia.

My Good Friend Mark Flowers Built anchors for me.

The View from the Top!

Looking down on my front yard from atop the 197' tower

I am getting ...Dizzy!
